Our freedoms are at stake. Our rights are in the balance. Our democracy is built on a relationship between the people and their government, where the people give up a portion of their power to the government and in exchange the government promises to grant the people their rights. This contract is being broken. Governments are limiting our freedom of speech with every ban they impose. We must stand together and confront them. Take action.

Make yourself heard! Write letters, send emails, make phone calls. Whether you reach out to your state governor or to your local school board, every voice matters. Reaching out can be intimidating, so the Unite Against Book Bans campaign provides a few talking points at

Report Banned Books
According to the American Library Association, at least 80% of book challenges/bans go unreported. If you know of a book challenge/ban, report it at https://www.ala.org/tools/challengesupport/report
